Frequently asked questions

How does the comparison work?

It uses the longest common subsequence (LCS) algorithm line by line and, on modified lines, a second word-level diff to highlight exactly what changed.

Is there a size limit?

You can compare very long texts: identical parts at the start and end are skipped before computing. You will only get a warning if the differing regions are huge, to avoid freezing the browser.

Are my texts uploaded to a server?

No. The whole comparison runs in your browser; your texts never leave your device.
