Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Recognition runs in your browser with Tesseract (WebAssembly) and the language data is served from this same site. Your image never leaves your device.

Which languages are supported?

Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Portuguese. You can add English to the chosen language for mixed text.

Why does the first run take longer?

The engine and language data weigh a few MB and are downloaded once; your browser keeps them for next time.

What if the text comes out wrong?

Use a sharper, straighter image with good contrast and pick the right language. Handwriting and blurry photos are hard for any OCR.
