Convert WebP to PNG

PNG is the right format when your WebP image has a transparent background or you need to edit it losslessly, for example a logo, a sticker or an icon. The conversion runs on your device and keeps transparency intact.

Frequently asked questions

Is the WebP transparency kept?

Yes. PNG supports an alpha channel, so the transparent areas of the WebP stay exactly as they are.

Do I lose quality converting to PNG?

Nothing more is lost: PNG is lossless. If the original WebP was compressed with loss, though, that degradation is already in the image.

Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP?

WebP compresses very efficiently while PNG stores everything without discarding anything, so it is usually much larger.

What about animated WebP?

Only the first frame is converted, because plain PNG does not support animation.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser and the files are not sent to any server.
