Frequently asked questions
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide the final price by 1 plus the rate: for example, 120 with 20% VAT gives 100 net and 20 VAT. Simply subtracting 20% of the total is not correct.
Which VAT rates exist?
They vary by country and by product or service: a standard rate and one or more reduced rates. Always check with your accountant or tax authority for your case.
Does it work for other countries?
Yes. It includes common rates for several countries and lets you type any other. Rates are indicative and can change.
How does it round?
To two decimals, and net plus VAT always add up to the displayed total.
Are my amounts stored?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and is not sent to any server.
