Frequently asked questions
Why does my CSV use semicolons instead of commas?
In much of Europe and Latin America the comma is the decimal separator, so Excel exports CSV files with semicolons. The tool detects this automatically.
What does number and boolean detection do?
It turns "42" into 42, "true" into true and empty cells into null. It is conservative: values with leading zeros such as zip codes ("007") and numbers that would lose precision are left as text.
How do I create nested objects?
Name your columns with dots, for example address.city and address.zip, and enable “Nest dotted keys”. You will get { "address": { "city": …, "zip": … } }.
Is it safe for customer data?
Yes. The file is read and converted in your browser; it is never uploaded to a server or stored.
What is JSON Lines?
A format with one JSON object per line (also called NDJSON). It is ideal for logs and bulk loads because it can be processed line by line without reading the whole file.
