Frequently asked questions

Which security type should I pick?

Most current routers use WPA2 or WPA3, and both are covered by the WPA/WPA2/WPA3 option. Choose “No password” only for an open network; WEP is an old system.

Does it work on every phone?

With the camera of iPhones (iOS 11 or later) and almost all recent Android phones. Older phones may need a QR reader app.

What if my network is hidden?

Tick the “Hidden network” box. The phone then knows to look for the network by name even if it is not in the list.

Who can see the password?

Anyone who scans the QR can connect, just as if you had told them the password. Place it only where you want to grant access. Your password is not stored on this site.

What happens if I change the WiFi password?

The QR stops working because the password is inside it. Generate a new one and print it again.
