Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the data never leaves your device.
How does it know the CSV delimiter?
It detects it by analyzing the first lines (comma, semicolon, tab or pipe). If it fails, pick it yourself in the drop-down.
What does “Convert numbers” do?
Values like 12 or 3.5 are saved as numbers and true/false as booleans, so you can sum them in Excel. Values with leading zeros, such as 007, stay as text.
Do accents and special characters survive?
Yes. Excel files use Unicode, so accented letters and special characters are preserved.
Is there a row limit?
The limit is your browser’s memory. Files with tens of thousands of rows convert fine.
